A Facebook page has become the talk of the town recently after they posted a video about the current Malaysian government.

Calling themselves Anonymous Malaysia, they posted a video which has been shared almost 800 times, with a person wearing an Anonymous mask addressing the camera.

In the 2 minutes and 29 seconds long video, the actual talking only starts at 1:28. You can watch it here.

The automated voice says that the video serves as a message to the government of Malaysia.

“Your security system is low, all data may be leaked. This can cause hackers to sell (private) information.”

The person then links the issues of telco data being leaked, rampaging scams and ultimately, the Malaysian Armed Forces website being hacked; all to one point, which is inadequate government support and developer teams who do not take ownership of their codes.

“They don’t actively seek ways to grow their abilities, they’re not curious about new horizons and they’re unwilling to recognise and learn from their past mistakes.”

They continued and said: “It has been a long time, we were silent. It’s time to open your eyes. We are legion, we do not forgive, we do not forget, expect us!

In October of 2019, University of Malaya’s e-payment website was hacked by someone similar to Anonymous in response to the student who held up a placard during his convocation ceremony.

In 2011, the Anonymous group made an attempt to hack 51 government sites and more than 40 of those sites were defaced, according to BBC.

A security expert has told The Star that this warning must be taken seriously by the government.

Well, that is certainly ominous. What do you think about this particular message?
